Big Boy Bed

I know that it has been forever since I have posted, so please forgive me. About a month ago we switch Sammy into a "big boy bed". He had been sleeping in a firetruck toddler bed and in the middle of the night we awakened by the crash-boom-banging of his head and various limbs smacking into the sides of the bed. We already have a set of bunk beds so it wasn't too much of a stretch to find a bed. I also was able to find a comforter set on Overstock for $25- crazy! We even got him a memory foam. Thank you daddy for that one. Steve loves ours so much he wanted the same amazing comfort for his boy. I was a bit leery of the height of the bed and his history of flailing in his sleep, but Sammy has done extremely well. He is growing so much each day. He has graduated from calling Amos- Abus to now Amnos. Each day my baby is slipping away into an amazing big boy.
Of course blankie needs to go to bed too.

Fishin'

Steve got back from a camping trip up near Mammoth with his Dad, Brother, and Nephews on Friday evening. Let me just give you a peek at how much he Loves Camping.... He was packed a week before they left, he woke up at 3 am on departure day even though they weren't leaving till 5, he nose was constantly stuck in camping and fishing books- He just loves it! The whole time packing he kept saying how much he wanted to take Sammy. Poor daddy, he wanted more than anything else to take his little boy and show him how great it is to camp, but this was a more advanced fishing trip and Sammy would've wanted to be in the water not sitting on the shore, so he stayed home.Steve came back with many stories and they had a blast. It has been quite a few years since he has gone camping with his dad and it was really just a great couple of days together.

Since the camping bug was still in Steve's system, we decided to go to big bear and fish. Well the boys did, I went grocery shopping. Sammy LOVES his fishing pole and caught on very fast.

San Diego Suprise!

Our Summers are always so crazy, so anytime we can getaway for even a day is just wonderful. This weekend I suprised Steve with the weekend in San Diego.
I had preprogrammed the address to a restaurant in San Diego. So when Steve got in the car he had no idea where we were going, he just knew he had to follow the GPS. Of course he figured it all out once we got passed Temecula, but he was still so surprised.

At our special dinner

We spent the day on Saturday at the Beach and in the pool. Sammy can now balance in his tubie and loves the freedom that comes with it.

Saturday evening I suprised Steve with tickets to see the Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera. We have been trying to get tickets to see it for years and always find out too late. We had a blast and it was amazing.

He is so not a morning person!

Peter Pan

Each day we are reminded how much Sammy is growing, learning and comprehending. Last week we realized that Sammy is starting to be very amused by funny parts of movies. He was sitting on the couch watching Peter Pan and was laughing hysterically, come to find out it was all at Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. There are a couple of parts that just crack him up. Here he is last night watching one of those parts. His little giggle just melts my heart- Try not to laugh!

The Wash's got Married

This past Saturday we got the opportunity to attend the wedding of some dear friends. Kelly is one of my closet friends and was also my roommate before Steve and I got married. I was one of the prettiest weddings I have ever been to.

Sammy always gets a snack stash during weddings.

Mr. and Mrs. Wash

I helped with this cake- cool huh. We also made 30 other small cakes for each of the tables

It's too hot!

I know that we are so blessed to live in the mountains, but sometimes I still get overwhelmed by the crazy heat up here. Sammy is now asking a million times a day for a bath. he is too funny. Sammy got this swimming pool for his birthday and just loves it. I think I might be heading in there soon if it doesn't cool off!
